In partnership with the drilling team of a major Operator in Sakhalin Island, we have created and qualified a new casing centralizer system to facilitate future record setting ER drilling programs. The resulting system breaks new ground by integrating the functions of a centralizer and stop collar and it out performs existing centralizer systems in load carrying capability by a wide margin (up to 100K lbf axial and 40k ft-lbf torsional ratings). The most innovative aspect of this equipment may be the way it eliminates the potential for hand injury during installation which is accomplished by the removal of a single locking lug in one hand motion compared to the typical 50 plus blows of a sledge hammer required for current systems.
